TradeDots AI App Issues

Issue: TradeDots AI App not loading or showing "Error loading data"

Symptoms:

  • AI App page blank or shows error message

  • Spinning loader that never completes

  • "Failed to fetch" or "Network error" message

Common Causes and Solutions:

1. Browser cache/cookies issue

Copy

Solution: - Clear browser cache and cookies - Chrome: Settings Privacy Clear browsing data - Firefox: Settings Privacy Clear Data - Safari: Preferences Privacy Manage Website Data Remove All - Then refresh page (Ctrl+F5 or Cmd+Shift+R for hard refresh)

2. Ad blocker interference

Copy

Solution: - Disable ad blocker for tradedots.ai - uBlock Origin: Click icon Power button to disable for site - AdBlock Plus: Click icon "Don't run on pages on this domain" - Test if AI App loads with ad blocker off

3. Browser compatibility

Copy

Supported browsers: Chrome 90+ (recommended) Firefox 88+ Safari 14+ Edge 90+ L Internet Explorer (not supported) Solution: Update browser to latest version or switch to Chrome

4. JavaScript disabled

Copy

Solution: - Enable JavaScript in browser settings - Chrome: Settings Privacy Site Settings JavaScript Allowed - Firefox: about:config javascript.enabled true

5. VPN or proxy blocking

Copy

Solution: - Temporarily disable VPN - Try connecting without proxy - If corporate network, whitelist tradedots.ai with IT

Still not working?

  • Try incognito/private browsing mode (tests if extension causing issue)

  • Try different device (tests if account-specific issue)

  • Contact support with browser console errors (F12 Console tab screenshot errors)

Issue: TradeDots AI App scores seem wrong or outdated

Symptoms:

  • Scores don't match current price action

  • Stock you know is hot showing low score

  • Timestamps show old data (>5 minutes old during market hours)

Diagnosis and Solutions:

1. Check market hours

Copy

AI App update frequency: - Market hours (9:30 AM - 4:00 PM ET): Every 10 minutes with auto-refresh Solution: Verify current time is during market hours If outside market hours, scores reflect last market close data Updates automatically on the front end during trading hours

2. Data provider delay

Copy

Possible causes: - Market data provider experiencing delays - High volume day (unusual activity) - Exchange halts or circuit breakers Solution: - Check tradedots.ai status page - Compare with other data sources (Yahoo Finance, TradingView) - Wait 5-10 minutes and refresh

3. Understanding score calculation timing

Copy

Score reflects: - Last 5-20 days of price action (momentum factors) - Current technical setup (pattern, support/resistance) - Today's volume and volatility What it does NOT reflect: - News that just broke (takes 1-2 hours to impact technical score) - After-hours moves (updates at 9:30 AM next trading day) - Pre-market moves (partially reflected, full update at 9:30 AM) Solution: Score lags fundamental news by design (technical analysis) This is expected behavior, not a bug

4. Specific stock missing from AI App

Copy

No minimum criteria for appearing on AI App, but: - Volume and price movement patterns affect ranking - Insufficient volume or momentum may result in lower/no ranking - Recent IPOs need trading history to establish patterns Solution: - Stock may not have sufficient volume or momentum patterns currently - Price movement and technical factors need to align for ranking - Check back later - rankings change as market conditions evolve - Not appearing doesn't mean excluded, just not ranking today

Issue: TradeDots AI App filters not working

Symptoms:

  • Sector filter shows no results

  • Score range filter doesn't apply

  • Filters reset when refreshing page

Solutions:

1. Clear filters and reapply

Copy

Steps: 1. Click "Clear All Filters" button 2. Verify you see full list (1000+ stocks) 3. Apply ONE filter at a time 4. Check if each filter works independently 5. If one filter fails, note which one and report to support

2. Check filter combinations

Copy

Some filter combinations yield zero results: - Technology sector + Score >95 + Volume Surge >90 - May have 0 stocks meeting ALL criteria today Solution: - Loosen one filter (e.g., Score >90 instead of >95) - Check "Results count" to see how many stocks match - If 0 results, filters too restrictive

3. Browser localStorage issue

Copy

Filters saved in browser localStorage May become corrupted Solution: - Open browser console (F12) - Type: localStorage.clear() - Refresh page - Reapply filters

Indicator Issues

Issue: Indicator not appearing on TradingView chart

Symptoms:

  • Added indicator, but nothing shows on chart

  • Indicator in legend but no visual elements

  • "Loading..." message that never completes

Step-by-Step Diagnosis:

Step 1: Verify indicator installed

Copy

Check: 1. TradingView Indicators button (top toolbar) 2. Search "TradeDots" 3. You should see all 6 indicators with "Added" or "Remove" button 4. If "Add" button showing, click it to install Common mistake: Thinking indicator auto-installs when you subscribe You must manually install each indicator in TradingView

Step 2: Check indicator limit

Copy

TradingView plan limits: - Free: 2 indicators max per chart - Pro: 5 indicators max - Pro+: 10 indicators max Solution: - Count how many indicators on chart (check legend) - Remove unused indicators to free up slots - Or upgrade TradingView plan

Step 3: Verify chart has data

Copy

Some stocks lack historical data: - Recent IPOs (<1 year) - Low volume stocks - International stocks not in TradingView database Solution: - Test indicator on SPY or AAPL (always has data) - If works on SPY but not your stock, stock data issue not indicator issue

Step 4: Check indicator settings

Copy

Indicator may be hidden or minimized: 1. Click indicator name in legend (bottom left) 2. Look for "eye" icon - if crossed out, indicator hidden 3. Click eye icon to show indicator 4. Check if visual elements now appear

Step 5: Timeframe compatibility

Copy

Some indicators work better on certain timeframes: - Chart Pattern & Market Structure: Best on daily/weekly - Buy Sell Signals V2: Works on all timeframes - Price Reversal Probability: Daily recommended Solution: - Switch to daily chart - If indicator appears, it's timeframe compatibility issue - Refer to indicator documentation for recommended timeframes

Issue: Indicator signals not matching examples in docs

Symptoms:

  • Buy arrow appears but you think it shouldn't

  • No signal when you expect one

  • Conflicting signals from different indicators

Understanding and Solutions:

1. Parameter differences

Copy

Possible causes: - You modified default indicator settings - Example in docs uses different timeframe - Market conditions different from example Solution: - Reset indicator to default settings: - Click indicator name Settings (gear icon) Reset to defaults - Verify timeframe matches example - Remember: Same setup can produce different signals in different market environments

2. Real-time vs historical data

Copy

Important difference: - Historical bars: Signals calculated on CLOSE of bar (confirmed) - Real-time bar: Signals may appear/disappear as bar forms (not confirmed) Solution: - Wait for bar close before acting on signal - On daily chart: Wait until 4:00 PM ET close - On 5-min chart: Wait for 5-min bar to close - Only trade confirmed signals (closed bars), not forming bars

3. Multi-confirmation vs single indicator

Copy

Docs often show perfect multi-confirmation setups: - Real markets have conflicting signals more often - Example: Buy Sell V2 shows buy arrow, but MACD bearish divergence Solution: - This is NORMAL and expected - Use 3-confirmation rule: Need 3+ indicators agreeing - If indicators conflict, skip trade (wait for clarity) - Don't force trades when signals mixed

4. Market condition context

Copy

Indicators perform differently by market regime: - Bull market: Trend-following signals work best - Bear market: Reversal signals work best - Choppy market: Most signals fail Solution: - Check SPY trend before trading signals - Adjust strategy to market condition - In choppy markets, expect higher false signals (this is normal)

Issue: Indicator alerts not triggering

Symptoms:

  • Set up alert, but never received notification

  • Alert triggered on some signals but not others

  • Alert notification delayed

Alert Setup Verification:

1. Check TradingView alert settings

Copy

Required alert setup: 1. Right-click on chart Add Alert 2. Condition: Select TradeDots indicator + specific condition 3. Options: - "Once Per Bar Close" (recommended, avoids false signals) - Notification: Email, SMS, Pop-up (check desired options) 4. Click "Create" Common mistakes: L "Crossing" instead of "Crossing Up" (too broad) L Alert set to "Only Once" instead of "Per Bar Close" L No notification method selected

2. Verify notification settings

Copy

TradingView notification requirements: - Email alerts: Verify email in TradingView settings - Check spam folder (TradingView emails often filtered) - SMS alerts: Requires TradingView Premium (not available on Free/Pro) - Pop-up alerts: Browser must allow notifications from TradingView Solution: 1. TradingView Settings Notifications 2. Enable desired notification types 3. Test with simple alert (e.g., "SPY crosses above 450") 4. If test alert works, TradeDots alerts should too

3. Alert count limit

Copy

TradingView alert limits by plan: - Free: 1 alert - Pro: 10 alerts - Pro+: 30 alerts - Premium: 200 alerts Solution: - Check active alerts count: TradingView Alerts panel - Delete old/expired alerts to free up slots - Prioritize most important setups - Or upgrade TradingView plan

4. Indicator alert compatibility

Copy

TradeDots indicators support: Buy Sell Signals V2: Full alert support Trend Following: Alert on strong/weak signals Smart MACD: Alert on crosses and divergences Price Momentum Reversal: Alert on reversal signals Chart Pattern & Market Structure: Alert on ChoCh/BOS Price Reversal Probability: Limited alert support (complex multi-condition) Solution: - If indicator doesn't show alert option, use Alert Script or contact support - Workaround: Use Buy Sell Signals V2 as proxy (often aligns with other indicators)

Account and Access Issues

Issue: Can't log in to TradeDots account

Symptoms:

  • "Invalid username or password" error

  • "Account not found" message

  • Login page redirects to error page

Solutions by Cause:

1. Incorrect credentials

Copy

Most common cause (90% of login issues) Solution: - Double-check email (case-sensitive? typo?) - Try "Forgot Password" to reset - Check if you used Google/Apple/social login originally - Verify with receipt email to confirm account email

2. Account not activated

Copy

New accounts require email verification Solution: - Check email for "Verify your TradeDots account" message - Check spam folder - Click verification link in email - If expired (>24 hours), request new verification email

3. Subscription expired

Copy

After trial ends or payment fails: - Account still exists but access restricted Solution: - Log in will show "Subscription Required" message - Re-subscribe or update payment method - AI App access restored immediately upon payment

4. Browser cookies disabled

Copy

Login requires cookies to maintain session Solution: - Enable cookies in browser settings - Chrome: Settings Privacy Cookies Allow all cookies (or whitelist tradedots.ai) - Try incognito mode (tests if extension blocking cookies)

5. Account suspended

Copy

Rare, only for Terms of Service violations: - Sharing subscription with others - Automated scraping of AI App - Abusive behavior Solution: - Contact support to appeal suspension - Review Terms of Service

Issue: TradingView indicators showing "Auth error" or "Premium required"

Symptoms:

  • Indicator loads but displays "Subscription Required"

  • "Authorization failed" message on chart

  • Indicator worked before but now asking for payment

Causes and Fixes:

1. TradingView session expired

Copy

TradingView authenticates indicators via session token Solution: - Log out of TradingView completely - Log back in - Refresh chart - Indicators should authenticate automatically

2. TradeDots subscription lapsed

Copy

TradingView checks with TradeDots servers for active subscription Solution: - Log in to tradedots.ai - Verify subscription status (Settings Subscription) - If expired, renew subscription - Wait 5 minutes for sync between TradeDots and TradingView - Refresh TradingView chart

3. TradingView username not linked

Copy

If indicator is locked (access not granted): - TradingView username not linked to TradeDots account - Indicators can't authenticate Solution: - Go to your TradeDots Settings page - Link your TradingView username - Access should be granted within a few minutes - Contact [email protected] if still not working

4. Corporate/school network blocking authentication

Copy

Some networks block API calls to third-party services Solution: - Try from different network (home internet, mobile hotspot) - If works from other network, whitelist tradedots.ai with IT department - Or use VPN to bypass network restrictions (then disable VPN once authenticated)

Performance and Speed Issues

Issue: TradeDots AI App slow to load or update

Symptoms:

  • Takes >10 seconds to load AI App

  • Ranking updates lag behind market moves

  • Page feels sluggish when scrolling

Optimization Steps:

1. Browser performance

Copy

Close unnecessary tabs: - Each open tab consumes RAM - AI App updates real-time (CPU intensive) Solution: - Close all tabs except TradeDots - Use dedicated browser window for trading - Restart browser daily

2. Disable browser extensions

Copy

Extensions can slow down JavaScript execution: - Ad blockers - Privacy extensions - Video downloaders - Shopping comparison tools Solution: - Disable all extensions - Test if AI App faster - Re-enable one at a time to identify culprit - Use extension "Enable/Disable" toggle for trading hours

3. Hardware acceleration

Copy

Enable GPU acceleration in browser: Chrome: - Settings Advanced System - Enable "Use hardware acceleration when available" - Restart browser Firefox: - Options General Performance - Uncheck "Use recommended performance settings" - Check "Use hardware acceleration when available"

4. Clear browser data

Copy

Old cache can slow down site: Solution: - Clear cache: Ctrl+Shift+Delete Select "Cached images and files" - Keep "Cookies" checked (stay logged in) - Choose "All time" range - Click "Clear data" - Refresh AI App

5. Reduce live data connections

Copy

If using multiple tools simultaneously: - TradeDots AI App (real-time) - TradingView (real-time charts) - Broker platform (real-time quotes) - Discord/Stocktwits streams Solution: - Reduce simultaneous real-time connections - Use AI App on one screen, charts on another (separate browser instances) - Close real-time social feeds during trading

Issue: TradingView charts slow or freezing

Symptoms:

  • Chart takes long time to draw candles

  • Freezes when changing timeframe

  • Zoom/pan laggy

  • CPU usage spike when TradingView open

Performance Fixes:

1. Reduce indicators on chart

Copy

More indicators = more calculations = slower performance Recommendations: - Max 2 indicators per chart (Free plan) - Max 5 indicators per chart (Pro plan optimal) - Remove unused indicators Solution: - Click indicator name Remove - Save chart layout with fewer indicators - Create multiple chart layouts for different analyses (instead of all indicators on one chart)

2. Reduce chart resolution

Copy

Higher resolution = more candles = slower: - 4K monitor showing 1000 candles = very CPU intensive Solution: - Zoom in (show fewer candles, e.g., 200-300) - Lower screen resolution (if on large monitor) - Use TradingView chart settings to limit max bars

3. Disable chart animations

Copy

TradingView Settings Appearance: - Disable "Animate price crossing scale marks" - Disable "Animate vertical crosshair" - Disable all unnecessary visual effects Solution: - Static charts faster than animated - Trading doesn't need fancy animations

4. Use lightweight indicator alternatives

Copy

If performance critical: - Buy Sell Signals V2 instead of all 5 individual components - Smart MACD instead of default MACD + RSI + Stoch separately - Trend Following instead of MA + patterns + momentum separately TradeDots indicators optimized, but still less taxing to use 2-3 comprehensive indicators than 6-8 basic indicators

Data and Charting Issues

Issue: Charts showing gaps or missing data

Symptoms:

  • Candles missing for certain time periods

  • Sudden gaps in price (but stock didn't gap)

  • Indicator lines disconnected

Causes and Solutions:

1. After-hours/pre-market data

Copy

TradingView default: Regular hours only (9:30 AM - 4:00 PM ET) Solution: - Right-click chart Settings - Check "Extended Trading Hours" - Click OK - Chart now shows pre/post-market data

2. Low volume periods

Copy

On intraday charts (1-min, 5-min): - No trades = no candle - Gaps normal for low-volume stocks in early/late hours Solution: - This is accurate data representation - Consider using higher timeframe (15-min, 1-hour) for smoother chart

3. Data provider issue

Copy

TradingView occasional data gaps: - Exchange connectivity issues - Specific stock data feed problems Solution: - Compare with other platforms (Yahoo Finance, broker chart) - If gap on all platforms, it's real (halt, circuit breaker) - If gap only on TradingView, report to TradingView support

4. Split or dividend adjustment

Copy

Stock split causes price discontinuity: - Historical prices adjusted backwards - Creates visual "gap" on chart Solution: - Check stock corporate actions calendar - If split/dividend, this is correct adjusted data - Use "Unadjusted" price data if need actual historical prices (TradingView settings)

Issue: Different prices shown across platforms

Symptoms:

  • TradeDots AI App shows $150

  • TradingView shows $150.25

  • Broker shows $150.10

  • Yahoo Finance shows $150.15

Why This Happens:

1. Bid vs Ask vs Last price

Copy

Different platforms show different price types: - TradeDots AI App: Last traded price - Some brokers: Bid price (if no recent trades) - Others: Ask price or mid-point (bid+ask)/2 Solution: - All are "correct" but measuring different things - Use Last price for analysis (most common standard) - Variance <0.2% is normal and expected

2. Data delay (for free tiers)

Copy

Real-time vs delayed data: - TradeDots: Real-time (for subscribers) - TradingView Free: 15-minute delay - Yahoo Finance: 15-minute delay - Broker platform: Real-time Solution: - Upgrade to TradingView Pro for real-time data - Or use broker platform for entries (real-time) - Use TradeDots/TradingView for analysis (slight delay acceptable)

3. Different exchanges

Copy

Same stock can trade on multiple exchanges: - NVIDIA: NASDAQ primary, but also OTC - Price variance <1% normal Solution: - Verify you're comparing same exchange - Use primary listing (NASDAQ for most US stocks)

Mobile and Device Issues

Issue: TradeDots AI App not working on mobile device

Symptoms:

  • AI App unresponsive on phone/tablet

  • Layout broken or cut off

  • Can't scroll or click elements

Mobile Solutions:

1. Mobile browser compatibility

Copy

Best mobile browsers: Chrome (Android) Safari (iOS) Firefox (Android/iOS) L Samsung Internet (not optimized) L UC Browser (not supported) Solution: - Use Chrome or Safari on mobile - Update browser to latest version

2. Mobile viewport and zoom

Copy

If layout looks broken: Solution: - Pinch to zoom out (see full page) - Rotate device to landscape mode - Clear mobile browser cache - If on tablet, "Request Desktop Site" may work better

3. Mobile data connection

Copy

AI App requires stable connection for real-time updates Solution: - Use WiFi instead of mobile data (faster and more stable) - If on mobile data, ensure good signal (3+ bars) - Close other apps using bandwidth

4. Mobile app availability

Copy

Current status: TradeDots is web-based only (no native app) Workaround: - Add tradedots.ai to Home Screen (acts like app): - Safari (iOS): Share Add to Home Screen - Chrome (Android): Menu Add to Home Screen - Use TradingView mobile app for indicators (separate app)
